Our Mission
Exploring the Jewish & Israeli Connection to Iceland!
Nordishe is a platform dedicated to Jewish and Israeli life in Iceland. It explores the cultural, historical, and linguistic connections between these two unique identities through stories, insights, and humor. The site provides resources for Jewish residents and visitors, shares historical perspectives, and highlights the shared spirit of resilience and community. With a modern design inspired by the Icelandic flag, Nordishe bridges worlds, fostering curiosity and connection.

Who’s Behind This?
We're not a startup, a marketing firm, or a political organization. We're just a handful of curious humans - part Jewish, part Icelandic (or living here and trying not to slip on the ice), and 100% interested in storytelling.
Some of us are writers, some are artists, some just know how to make killer matzah ball soup. None of us like gefilte fish. Well… maybe one. There's always one.
We’re here to explore what it means to be Jewish and/or Israeli in Iceland, and we’re doing it with a sense of humor, open minds, and a strong Wi-Fi signal.
Want to join the team? Just bring good vibes and spell hummus correctly. (We’re looking at you, “houmous.”)

Mike
Strategic communications advisor, writer, editor, and inventor of words that don’t exist (but definitely sound important).
Mostly tells people how to talk to other people in ways that make them listen - or at least pretend to.
Lives in Reykjavík because the weather feels like home (if home were an industrial fridge).
Founder of the #WeLeadComms recognition program, which features a lot of people who talk about communications - and then like each other’s posts.
Extensive background in internal communications, change, political campaigns, and fish-related jokes.
Open to jobs, projects, or a fresh croissant. Not necessarily in that order.

Adam
Sustainability strategist, ESG advisor, and academic lecturer – but don’t worry, he doesn’t actually speak in PowerPoint.
Moved to Iceland in search of clean air, 3PM sunsets, and space to contemplate EU regulations in peace.
Founded GlacialEdge Advisory to help companies act more responsibly (and also because “independent consultant” looks great on LinkedIn).
Previously ran the U.S. chapter of the UN Global Compact – now mostly runs client calendars for people who don’t know when they’re free.
Fluent in strategy, reporting, and words like “transformation,” “net-zero,” and “disruptive potential.”
Open to opportunities, collaborations, and maybe a hot bowl of soup on a stormy day.

Duba
Moved to Iceland in search of new adventures, warmth, and possibly employment (not necessarily in that order).
Has extensive experience in making things look and sound better - from training videos to tomatoes. Willing to work in almost any field, including but not limited to: fish, volcanoes, puffin wrangling, or anything that involves not freezing.
Always happy to collaborate, create, or just chat over a well-made cup of coffee.
Confused by fermented shark, but trying to keep an open mind.
